Montreal On The Road - Hostel in Europe
The second biggest french speaking city in the world after Paris (don't worry english is spoken too), Montréal is an amazing city situated on an island, where you can enjoy the crazy change of climate all year long. As cold as MosCow in the winter and as hot as Rio in summer, Montréal is the most European city in the heart of North america.
During the summer is the craziest time, when terraces are always packed with people and the nightlife is intense. Bars and clubs on St-Laurence Street are some of the most interesting in terms of interior design and their diverse styles and music. The highlights of summer are the international fireworks competition and festivals like Jazz fest, Just for Laughs and Francofolie. Summer really is spectacular in this fun city that never sleeps. (After hour bars are a must)
Montréal is the oldest major city of North America and because of that the old port is one of the most well preserved and romantic places you will ever be. Bicycle paths are everywhere and rollerblader and skateborders are welcome to use it.
In the heart of Montréal is the Mount Royal, a huge park in a mountain where you can celebrate every sunday the rythm of tam tams and crazy dances.
Multicultural communities are really present in Montreal, with nationalities represented such as Italian, Greek, Chinese and Portugese, to name a few. Each has their own quarter with their own restaurants and architecture and flavour.
Fashion, music and arts are the soul of this city, safe to be at every hour, day and night. Montrealers are really friendly and will be glad to help you in every way they can.
St-Catherines Street is where you will find everything you might always wonder for and where you could buy anything. For you crazy-minded men and women out there, Strip clubs here for both men and women are known to be really wild.
Ile St-Hèlene is where the Grand Prix de Montréal happens every year and the where the Universal Expositions was in 1967. It is an absolute must when you pass the city to visit all different pavillons made by different countries. For you gamblers out there the Casino de Montréal built in the french pavillon will dry your thirst for money.
Whatever you like, whoever you are, there is something for you in one of the most interesting and versatile cities of the world, So pack up your stuff and see you soon!.
